Going Atmos and adding more speakers.
Hey everyone.
I've been remodeling our basement to create a family room/movie room.
Currently I am running the following:
Klipsch RP-8000 II, RP504C II, R120SW from a Denon 3700H.
I would like to add in-wall sides and rears, 2-4 ceiling speakers for Atmos.
Measurements are as follows:
From TV wall to opposite wall is 26'. Couch is 12.6' from TV.
Left side wall to Right side wall is 33" feet. Left wall to viewing area is 8.4'.
Height is 8'.
There is an HVAC bulk head behind couch which is about 4' wide, and drops down about 1.8' from ceiling. It hangs about 8" over the back of the couch.
Photos attached, please dont mind the mess, I am still painting and putting down floors.
Basically the question I have, given the layout of room, how would you tackle this in terms of speaker placement and speaker type.
Atmos - I was looking into the Micca 6 or 8's, due to price and them having pretty good reviews on Amazon or the Klipsch 5800's since they are probably better but way more expensive.
Rears/Sides - Micca 8s or Klipsch R-5502 II's.
Any other recommendations?
We watch a lot of movies, almost every night, and I do listen to music.
(L/R speakers are 9" from wall btw, in case someone mentions they are too close to wall. I have kids that run through here so I don't risk them slamming into them.)
(Sliding door will be receiving a blackout shade and tint)
