What has cost you the most time or money when modding your Tacoma?

Longtime Tacoma owner here (2022 SR5), mostly use mine for overlanding and off-road stuff around Utah. Been getting deeper into the mod side of things lately and honestly the whole process feels way more chaotic than it needs to be.

Curious where other people actually get stuck. For me the biggest headache is compatibility — there are a million variations of every part and figuring out what actually fits my specific trim without digging through 47 forum threads is a nightmare.

Is that a common experience or am I just doing it wrong? Where do you guys actually waste the most time or money when planning mods? What does your research process actually look like?

Not pitching anything, genuinely trying to understand if my experience is normal or if there are resources I'm missing.
