Qualifying for In-State

Hi everyone! I was recently accepted into a medical school in Michigan starting this July, and I had a question about residency status.

Since graduating in May 2025, I have been living in Michigan for about a year with distant family members. They are willing to provide a notarized statement confirming that I have been residing with them and paying rent.

Do you think this would make me eligible for in-state tuition? I’d really appreciate any insight on how likely it is to qualify. Thanks.
