Say what you want about Netflix subtitles...

...but when it comes to releasing currently airing series on time with the Korean broadcast, nobody does it better.

As soon as the Korean television broadcast ends, Netflix releases the episode to the international market.

In Your Radiant Season aired the finale tonight in Korea, but Disney+ is still two episodes behind. Why? I started the show this week thinking I'd get to watch the finale today, yet here I am still hanging on to the cliff hanger of episode 10.

Watching Our Universe on Viki was a hot mess. The platform would keep saying that episodes would be available the same day as broadcast, then have technical glitches where the episode is there but unwatchable, then disappear completely, then reappear a day or two later.

The Village Barber - the final episode airs tonight in Korea, but only six episodes are on Viki. Episode 7 will supposedly be released tomorrow, which means it's another three weeks until we get to see the finale.

Viki seems to be posting Phantom Lawyer consistently with Netflix, but I'm sure that's because they're benefiting from the deal that Netflix negotiated for international distribution.

Amazon Prime - the only currently airing series I've watched on that platform is Spring Fever, and they were as consistent as Netflix, so I can't complain.

I understand that a lot of us binge watch shows, I do too with older shows. But part of the joy I've found in watching currently airing shows is getting to take part in discussions with each other as we all see it for the first time.

The level of discussion isn't the same if I go watch My Mister from 2018 and make a post about it in 2026. Most people have watched it already and it's been discussed to death on this Reddit. But when Netflix drops Can This Love Be Translated?, The Art of Sarah, Boyfriend on Demand... there is thread after thread from people excited about the show.

in conclusion, I appreciate Netflix for getting content out to us in a timely manner. Disney+, Rakuten Viki... get your shit together.
