The Harvested Conquest
I'm using the House Words of House Harlaw in the title based on this speculation. See:

This is part of a story that me and a friend of mine had established. We sort of created some Baratheon bastard OCs. And we began to wonder about how they could impact the story at large if they were implemented in the main story canon.
For this one, its a character we've dubbed Daegon Pyke. He's a bit of a twist on an already existing chracter named Daegon, but bear with me. His backstory being that Robert had fathered him on Gwynesse Harlaw. She's the older sister of Rodrik Harlaw who claims that her own rights were stolen. She was married but she had lost her husband in the Greyjoy Rebellion.
The story goes that she came to Robert, ranting and raving about her loss. But soon enough, many had heard .... a different type of screaming. Robert certainly had the gift of charm.
Gwynesse is still mad with grief that not even her child is enough to bring her out of it. She barely acknowledges him or remembers his name. Which leaves him being raised by his Uncle Rodrik. Rodrik had lost both of his sons during the Battle of Fair Isle and raises Daegon with the same love and care he had with them.
Harras Harlaw, the Knight of Grey Garden, is still considered Rodrik's heir. It's less about his love for his nephew and more about politics. As acknowledging him as an heir would invalidate his own claim and give credence to his mother's mad ravings. A child of royal blood, even a bastard, would complicate the Harlaw succession even further. Such a child might create complex dynamics with the Iron Islands. Lord Rodrik Harlaw is a reasonable and thoughtful man ("Rodrik the Reader"), but the general Iron Islands culture values strength and reaving, so the child's acceptance would be questionable unless raised in the Harlaw ways. Especially with Gwynese claiming that the Ten Towers are her birthright.
Despite her barely being lucid. But Daegon is granted many priveleges that many bastards wouldn't. He's like Jon Snow and Edric Storm in a way. But he's a young kid who would likely be able to kick Edric's ass if the situation called for it, being blessed with the Baratheon strength at such a young age. But he's fairly well read as well.
He likely could end up on Theon's crew when he comes to the Iron Islands. Or maybe not, given his age.
So, what do you think? How would Daegon impact the story at large? Comment your opinion respectfully.
