Sydney 39 [M4F] - There’s a Strange Kind of Power in Wanting What You Shouldn’t

NSFW

I used to think the line mattered more than the lead-up to it.

Now I’m not so sure.

Nothing’s happened. Not technically. No rules broken, no lines crossed that you could point to and call it what it is.

But that’s also the game, isn’t it?

It starts in the space where everything is still “innocent.”

Longer replies. Slightly sharper attention. Conversations that don’t need to go where they’re going—but do anyway.

And the part no one really says out loud: it feels good.

Not in a chaotic, out-of-control way. In a precise, deliberate way.

You know exactly what you’re doing.

You know exactly how it could be read.

And you choose to keep it right there—just inside the boundary.

That’s where the power is.

Because as long as nothing happens, you can tell yourself you’re still in control.

But you’re also building something. Quietly. Intentionally.

And if I’m honest, that tension—the almost, the restraint, the awareness—is more addictive than anything that comes after.

So I’m curious how many people here actually recognize that stage for what it is…

And how many are still telling themselves it’s harmless.
