New relationship

So I’ve recently started a situationship with someone who has said they cannot give many details about their work due to the confidential nature/needing clearance.

They’ve recently submitted the form to allow me to be vetted and cleared.

I’ve read this process can take a long time- how do you all proceed with navigating relationships like this?

Am I being played?

Is there some way I can be assured that this is all legit?
