Creating the Surprise

I love following everything Phish on social/ Reddit. Soon me a couple of friends are heading to the Sphere for the 2nd weekend. Leading up to the shows I’m going to avoid all Phish posts.

Hear me out. We can all get the set lists, the videos, reviews, etc… As an avid concert goer I miss not knowing what is next. Sadly, it is a rare occasion to not have a scoop on what’s going to happen. Yes, Phish keeps things under wraps. Amazingly so for the most part. But I don’t want to know what was or hasn’t been played. As hyped as I am for the spectacle of the 🔮sphere, seeing any visuals before the shows I get to attend is a spoiler.

I do not think they will do any repeats of anything over the 9 nights. To me it’s just better to have a blank slate. No comparisons of what was done earlier in the run. As long as I can I want to savor the anticpaaa

tion. 💋

I realize that this post is a potential troll trap. It’s so easy to say, “Hey! Let’s all bombard this guy with set info. Real or fake.” To that I ask a simple thought. Do you remember what was like to be a kid and open a present? When is the last time any of us got the pure enjoyment of being surprised.

Just a thought.
