Is it possible to make a dual stepper motor driver board that can be controlled with a single grove cable from a raspberry PI with a Pi2Grover hat?
I am a high school student and in FRC. I think that has spoiled me, as I like everything to be plug and play. When I first found the Pi2Grover, I thought it would be awesome. It was, for the boards made with it in mind. Sadly, it is very common to want something that isn’t produced.
I don’t have any PCB experience, but I would love a board that:
Can connect to the Pi2Grover with a single grove cable.
Can be easily powered with a screw terminal.
Can drive at minimum 2 Nema 17 stepper motors. (Would be awesome to have variations of the board that can support more)
Is this possible, and do you have any resources or suggestions I could use?
Also, where do you all buy your PCBs? The shipping costs are insane when I checked, it’s like $35-$50 for a $8 board 🤣. As a high school student, I don’t mind the cost of the board, but at that rate I can only get one board a month which is really not great for learning and designing basic PCBs for practice.
