How to get better at throwing?

So I've reached top 20% in both 3v3 and 1v1 and I've noticed that people are throwing much more than before but I'm not that good at throwing so I was hoping people can give me tips to get better. (Usually instead of throwing my char just does a normal attack and if I use hops I get interrupted). My 3v3 team is bulwark, ironclad and Marcus and 1v1 is Marcus.
