Idk what to do
I have just finished my associates in science and everything I need for my nursing application. I am currently waiting on an update to see if I got in or not but it will be awhile because deadline to the application just passed. They will let me know if I got in by the latest June 15. Here’s my thing… I called the school and asked IF I was to get in when would school start and they said August 31 and orientation would be sometime a week before. I am currently at a job that has nothing to do with healthcare but I wanted to start working in the healthcare field so I can have experience before nursing school and during school as well. I of course would work full time all the way until classes start and then I would go part time because I want to put majority of my focus on school. What I’m having trouble with is finding a job right now. I know there’s certain things I need a degree or certification with but I really just want to get my foot in and possibly grow in the healthcare field and if something opens up then great. I debated on getting my CNA certification and saw that lone star has a program for the summer and it’s first come first serve. Their start date would be beginning of June and it ends August 21. Right before classes start. Idk if I should wait to hear from my school first because there’s a chance spots will get filled. I have a friend who works as a physicians office and she said they’re hiring but it’s an hour drive. I also have to consider all these things because I have a son that will start school as well in August. My boyfriend will be helping me and my family a little as well but I just feel like idk what route to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
