Honestly as a hardcore CSK fan for years, what’s happening right now is honestly breaking my heart.

Ruturaj has been a really poor captain. There’s no planning, no clear roles for the players, nothing. The team just looks lost out there. And let’s be real all the trophies we’ve won? It’s because of Dhoni’s captaincy. Full stop.

We’re still depending on a 44-year-old MSD to come and save us every match. This can’t go on. Either let him be the captain for whatever time he has left, or make him the coach/mentor and give him proper control. At least then we’ll see some actual leadership.Right now, CSK feels exactly like RCB did back in 2019 good players on paper, but zero direction.

Anyone who says coaching and mentorship don’t matter should just look at RCB’s turnaround. Dinesh Karthik as mentor and Andy Flower’s tactics changed everything for them. MI also kept winning by changing coaches and having someone like Sachin as mentor. We need something like that badly.

My honest take:

Sanju Samson should be made captain. He’s shown he can lead.

Bring in a strong head coach maybe Andy Flower after RCB, Ricky Ponting after PBKS, or Gautam Gambhir once he’s done with India.

Or go all in: Make Dhoni the coach and get Ashwin as mentor.

When Dhoni is in charge, we play like that 90s Australia team calm and dominant. Without him leading, we look like Bangladesh on their worst days. Honestly, even Bangladesh might be playing better cricket than us right now. It’s that bad.

The auction was a complete mess under Fleming. Team balance, roles, everything feels wrong. If Ruturaj continues as captain, we’re only heading for more disappointment.

N Srinivasan sir, please wake up. Sack Fleming, take the captaincy away from Ruturaj, and do whatever it takes before it’s too late.

The legacy built by MSD, Raina, Ashwin, Jadeja, Rayudu, Watson, Bravo, Faf, Badrinath, Morkel, Hayden and the rest is crumbling. This isn’t the CSK I fell in love with. This isn’t the yellow army that felt unbeatable.
