LPA lab testing range
I just received the lab results for my annual physical. This was the first time that LPA was tested and my result was >230. I asked about the > part and the response was that was the top range for that lab (SMA). Has anyone else seen that - a top range limit in a lab? What lab have others used that gave a higher range? I saw that Labcorp on Demand has a LPA test - does that offer higher range? My doctor feels like we know it’s high - does not care if it is higher. Also just said that it wasn’t a big deal because my CRP was under 5, my LDL was 96 and my A1C was 5.5. If he does not pursue additional testing - I would like to add an APOB, HS-CRP, a better quantified LPA and maybe ask for a Cleerly if those come back with worrisome results.
Researching this - I want some discussion points when I go to the physical - I think that I should have additional testing. From what I read - my new LDL target should be < 75. Also I have read a lot of stuff that micro-dosing a GLP lowers cardiac risks - the data points specifically to Wegovy. My Current BMI Is under 25 so the GLP more for cardiac than for weight loss.
