Should I stay in the same "card family" as my BF

Discussion / Conversation

I recognize this is more philosophical but curious what people's thoughts are. My BF and I travel together a lot (usually 2-3 big trips/year). Our finances are separate so we coordinate but book things separately. We don't nickel and dime, so we book flights individually and then just whoever finds the best deal on the hotel books it.

He has the CSR and I have the CSP. I'm debating getting rid of it and getting a different travel card - either Capital One Venture/X or one of the United ones (our main airport is a United hub).

My worry is we'll have access to totally different flights if I do that. I assume the fancier card gets better deals. but right now we're at least in the best position to get the same flights. Is that silly?
