What’s Seven Sisters London like to live in these days? (Buying advice)

Hi all,

I’m hoping to get a bit of a current, honest take on what it’s like living in Seven Sisters these days.

My partner and I are starting to look at buying, and we’re seeing a surprising amount of 3-bed houses coming up around the £600k mark, particularly close to the station. On paper, it feels like a good option — transport links seem really strong (Victoria line + Overground), and it’s relatively well connected into central.

That said, I’ve come across quite mixed opinions when it comes to safety and the general feel of the area, and it’s hard to know what’s outdated vs what’s still relevant.

We’re a couple in our early 30s (lesbian couple), and while it’s just the two of us now, we’d be hoping to start a family in the next few years — so things like community, safety, and whether there are other young families around are pretty important to us.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who lives there (or has lived there recently). How does it feel day-to-day? Are there particular streets/areas that are better than others? And does it feel like somewhere that’s improving over time?

Thanks so much!
