Is it a red flag, harmless/inappropriate, or am I the problem?

I (unmarried female) heard about this situation and I’m trying to understand if I’m being unreasonable.

A married man was on a plane. He started a conversation with a woman he didn’t know. They exchanged phone numbers, he said it was because he’s a businessman and it was a connection. Later, he texted her to make sure she arrived safely and that she wasn’t sick, because he had fallen ill during the trip. After that, he never contacted her again.

To me, this feels like a red flag. Why would a married man need to talk to a stranger woman if it wasn’t for business or something necessary? Why exchange numbers at all? Why check on her wellbeing?

But when I shared this with other women, they told me I’m overreacting. They said it’s completely normal for people to socialize, even married people, and that this is harmless, I agreed that socialization is normal in general, but this specific situation still bothers me.

They also said I should seek pre-marriage counseling (pre-marriage counseling is important regardless, and I do plan to do it), especially since I hope to marry a foreigner (from a more open-minded culture like Europe) who would be used to this kind of thing.

So I need a reality check:

· Am I wrong for seeing this as a red flag?

· Is this genuinely normal behavior for married men in open-minded cultures?

· Or is my boundary reasonable, and I just need to find a man who shares it?

I would appreciate any honest opinions.
