Used Honda City VX '2017 opinion?
Hey everyone, need some advice before I decide.
Looking at a 2017 Honda City VX CVT with ~82k km. 70k serviced at Honda, last 12k outside.
---
What I liked:
- Engine felt strong and responsive, pickup was good
- Overall driving felt quick and smooth
- AC cooling was solid
- Brakes felt sharp
- Mostly single-driver usage (as per owner)
- CVT oil changed at 40k and 70k
- New battery installed
- Comes with alloy wheels and a good sound system
- Owner seemed genuine and transparent
---
What I noticed / issues:
- CVT has a slight grunt during initial pickup like a mild Exhaust
- Gear selector feels a bit notchy, not smooth
- Steering slightly heavy at full turn.
- Tyres are old, need replacement soon
- Front and rear bumpers repainted
- Suspension already changed twice
- Right rear brake light is broken (owner says ordered)
- Headliner looks a bit aged / off color
- Will need minor paint touch up
- Engine bay gets quite hot after short drive (not sure if normal)
- Double transmission oil change at 40k & 70k normal?
---
Other details:
- Has 12 speeding Chalan which he will clear by his side
- Car Transfer from his side. But he wants it pre dated sell of March not April. (Any issues regarding this?)
- Insurance updated to Nov-26.
---
Price:
- Asking: 5.5L
- I’m thinking around 4.8L considering tyres and minor fixes
---
Questions:
- Does the CVT behavior sound normal or something to worry about?
- Is the pricing fair or should I negotiate lower?
- Anything else I should check before going ahead?
- Should I get a Manual for the safe side?
Would really appreciate your inputs. Please give input!
