Shanghai ??

Just arrived in Shanghai tonight after 3 weeks traveling around. walking down on Nanjing Road, every 10 steps someone is flashing a card saying come buy what ever you want cheap prices.

A friend said ok to some woman. so we followed her threw pedestrian st to a dark side road. then she turn to us and said we need to take a short taxi ride. 5 mins. we both stopped and looked at her. I said forget it... she insisted it was only a 5 min ride. I told her to #$@% off and we walked away. I saw her follow a little bit. then disappeared into the crowd again.

Is this some sort of scam?
