Pure automation is a trap. 🪤
When most people think about algorithmic trading, they imagine a "set-and-forget" machine that runs forever while they sleep. But anyone who has managed a real multi-bot ecosystem knows the truth:
The challenge isn't finding more entry signals; it's managing Operational Entropy.
When you have 5, 10, or 20 EAs running simultaneously on e.g. MetaTrader, they are often "blind" to each other. If three different bots trigger a 'Buy' on correlated pairs at the same time, your systemic risk doesn't just grow... it spikes.
I’ve always believed that the most robust setups aren't 100% autonomous, but Semi-Automated. The goal here isn't to remove the human from the loop, but to place the human where they provide the most value: Risk Supervision.
On the other hand it's also true that retaining manual control over an automated system is a double-edged sword introducing potential psychology-related downsides, but that's when experience as a trader comes into play.
