The Influencer and the Underdog - Story of how he met a famous celebrity on a DATING app.
Little about me - I was 24 at that time and honestly, a bit of a mess. I completed my BTech.(IT) in 5 years, got detained due to low attendance. I had 14 backlogs in college. Somehow managed to clear all of them. Learned coding from Coding Ninjas. They arranged an interview for me, and I got a decent off-campus placement as a software engineer.
Life was usual. Used to get up at 9 AM. Leave for office by 10. Code-Code-Code. Come back by 9 PM . After that, Leetcode & Geeks for geeks. Just another greedy guy trying to switch in one of the good product based companies. There were days, when after a hectic day at work, it used to feel lonely. We all crave for company at times, don't we?
That is when I thought of trying my luck on a dating app. I didn't put a picture. I just pasted some catchy bio I’d found online, thinking nobody would ever swipe right on a ghost.
Then I met her.
She was in her early thirties, stuck in a marriage that was falling apart. They both were living separately. Won't get into details. She was a big influencer and was wealthy beyond words. She was living a life I could only dream of.. Good part about her? she never cared about my looks, bank balance or my lack of a "perfect" profile. While I was busy doubting myself if its gonna work or not, she spent our first week of talking looking at the good inside me. We clicked instantly. It was the most natural thing in the world.
We finally planned to meet at a high end spot in Delhi NCR. I remember standing there, heart racing, watching the reception area. Then, a white Volvo XC60 pulled up. My absolute favourite car, it was such a turn on, I kid you not haha.
When she stepped out, she was literally glowing. Smiling and waving at me. She was in her thirties, but honestly? She put girls in their twenties to shame. She looked like a princess. Confident & elegant!
We spent the whole day together. It wasn't about her fame or her money, it was about how she made me feel. She was so kind & loving.. For a day, I wasn't a guy struggling to find his way in life, I was the luckiest man in NCR.
We are not in touch anymore. But whenever I see a white Volvo on the road, I think of her. She was one of the prettiest and most genuine souls I’ve ever known, and I’ll always be glad our paths crossed.
Do let me know, if you have something special to share. Write down your story in comments . I would love to hear it from you, folks.
Happy Weekend!!
