jewellery emergency lol

I got a lip labret repierced two days ago (i have two sets of snakebites and one had fallen out on one side). I woke up this morning with the ball missing and I can’t find it anywhere and don’t have any externally threaded spares like she used but I do have hoops. Is there any change of salvaging the piercing by changing into hoops or would it really irritate it and make it unsalvageable?
