I like to interpret that Morgott may have been holding back throughout the entirety lore until he faces us

Lore

Brief post but,

Morgott never once unleashes his cursed omen power, until were right at the footsteps of the Erdtree, which was probably the closest someone had ever got to the Erdtree under Morgotts reign, hence why he unleashes his cursed omen powers.

I like to believe however, that because the wood on his sword hadn’t been unsheathed once before he fights us, he was likely holding a large amount of his power throughout his life.

This is also really in character, Morgott likely despises his omen powers because its the very reason he was rejected by The Golden Order and Marika, so he never uses it and only uses what he’s been socialised into believing is okay, instead utilising the Erdtrees and Greater Will’s holy power. The one time he unleashes his omen power we literally hear him cursing himself.

I think this is further even backed up by the fact that Morgott doesn’t even unsheathe it against one of the mightiest warriors in The Lands Between, Radahn. This again would make a lot of sense, because surrounded by an audience he probably felt ashamed and disgusted to release his omen power.

I feel like perhaps a counter to this is maybe he unsheathed the wood and just like, finds other wood to hide it again? Although, it just seems kinda unrealistic.

If im right, its insane to think how vast of an arsenal of power Morgott was holding back, and how strongly he held his own for such a vast period of time despite not unleashing half his power set.
