Amanda Aged Badly
I find it surprising that Amanda Blake was only in her 30's in the 1960's, she looks a good 10-15 years older then your typical girl in her 30's, I would say she looks in her late 40's or 50's.
I thought maybe she was a hard drinker or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case. She was a smoker, but so was everyone else in that time frame so I don't think that was really the cause. And her voice, it's almost in the baritone range! It makes me wonder if possibly she had high testosterone levels or something? Maybe she needed an estrogen boost?
Maybe Amanda looked better in real life? It could be she looked older because of the clothes and makeup they put on her, maybe she's wearing a wig too, she really doesn't have what I would call a very flattering hairdo, I should also mention that her figure is on the frumpy side, plus it wouldn't hurt if she lost a few pounds. I think the show going to color in 1966 only made her look older, I think B&W is a little more forgiving.
I find it really ridiculous that they always portrayed Miss Kitty as this vision of loveliness, the most beautiful woman in Kansas or that mortal man has ever seen! We can forgive the cowboys saying that, the one's who come into Dodge after driving cattle on the range for months, hell, they would think a flock of sheep look beautiful. I wonder if this ever embarrassed Amanda Blake? Maybe she took it as a big compliment and ego boost, but Idk, after all they did cast some ridiculously truly beautiful women on the show over the years.
Sorry, but her "beauty" is so far from the truth, on a ten point scale I think she's pushing a 4, yes, I'm saying she's a 3, it's just my opinion but, that puts her in the canine territory!
So many fans wanted Matt and Kitty to hook up, Kitty is a great friend, loyal to a fault, generous and all, but I think its safe to say Matt could do way better, and we know he passed up many good chances.
