Why Super Mario Maker 3 will actually be "Mario Maker 3D" in 2029

Discussion

Reason 1: The Rule of Three (Symmetry)

Nintendo loves wordplay and symmetry The "3" in Mario Maker 3 is the perfect excuse to jump into 3D It’s clean it makes sense, and it fits their philosophy perfectly Imagine an engine where you can create levels using styles from Galaxy 1 & 2, 3D World, and even Wonder adapted to a 3D space It’s the natural evolution of the franchise.

Reason 2: The Ultimate System Seller for Switch 2

If Mario Maker 1 & 2 were hits a 3D version would be the definitive "Content Creator" tool. It would offer nearly unlimited fan-made content keeping the Switch 2 relevant for a decade With constant updates adding items and new 3D modes, it could easily push the console to become the best selling of all time It’s the ultimate "Endless Mario.

Reason 3: The 2029 Timeline (Strategic Development)

Why 2029? Two factors:

The 45th Anniversary:

2030 is Mario's big year so a late 2029 release builds the perfect hype

Development Time:

Mario Maker 2 came out 2 years after the Switch launch Since 3D programming is much more complex a 4 year gap (from the rumored 2025 Switch 2 launch) makes sense Nintendo needs to release their "main" 3D Mario first to avoid oversaturating the market before giving fans the tools to build their own.

What do you guys think? Is the "3D = 3" theory too perfect to ignore or is 2029 still too early for this? Let me know in the comments.
