No Help - Surprise Attack
I have a very complicated, unknown chronic illness that literally no doctor in mainstream hospitals is aware of, and it causes me really weird symptoms every once in a while. Pretty much anything that ever goes wrong with my body somehow comes back to being a part of my chronic illness. My illness causes me to swell rapidly from my mucous membranes when I'm under high amounts of stress, but that can also include my hands, feet, intestines, face, throat, eyeballs, anything really. It cost me to go blind many years ago but new symptoms pop up pretty much every year. For instance, these last four weeks I have been so unbelievably constipated it has been causing me to vomit, be unable to work sleep or eat, I am in severe pain, and no laxative or stool softener will help me. We all know how it goes… I went to the doctor, they simply told me I was constipated and gave me magnesium. When that did not work I went to the emergency room after four weeks of not being able to go. After a CT scan and bloodwork they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with me, there wasn't even enough stool in my system to be considered constipated, and they don't recommend that I continue doing any of the laxatives as it may caused me to become dehydrated. I literally just stared at the doctor so confused for a solid five minutes unable to speak because I was in so much pain and so exhausted from the week that I had had. Sure enough right then in there it hits me that I could be having a flare and I've been wasting the last four weeks and not taking my medication because I didn't think that it was a flare. I went home and took several doses of my emergency medication just to see what would happen, and bam. Things are moving again. Not only did I sit in the hospital for seven hours to be told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me and that I should maybe go see a primary care doctor instead of a hospital, but my chronic illness literally caused me to be in severe pain for four weeks and there was a simple solution that I didn't see. I am unbelievably angry, frustrated, and I'm so tired of living in my body. Has anyone else had anything like this happened to them to where they can provide some comfort or relief? I'm not really in a great place right now regarding my chronic illness after this incident and I kind of need some reassurance
