Crafting multiple magic effects on the same weapon over time?

For context I'm playing an Artificer that just became Battle Smith. I have a Returning Weapon infusion on a Trident. What are the rules for crafting multiple magic effects on the same weapon over time? This would take a very long time in game, but just as an example could I craft Enspelled Weapon onto the same Returning Trident? Then later Flametongue on the same weapon?

I've been googling and looking and haven't been able to find an answer or anyone trying to do this same thing, so I'm assuming this isn't possible.
