There aren’t a lot of April birthdays to highlight, BUT there are a ton of new dramas coming out this month with actors and actresses worth featuring! Starting with [**Veil of Shadows**](https://mydramalist.com/761731-the-resurrection-painted-skin), which aired on **April 1, 2026**, I will share **a post for each of the main leads**. I didn’t think combining them would do them justice.

We begin with our most beloved Fang Duobing from [**Mysterious Lotus Casebook**](https://mydramalist.com/713331-the-lotus-casebook) (2023): [**Joseph Zeng**](https://mydramalist.com/people/12634-zeng-joseph) (Chinese name: Shunxi). In Veil of Shadows, Joseph plays Wu Shiguang, a demon hunter whose goal is to defeat the Dragon Deity.

Rumoured to air soon, is his next drama, [**The Legend of Rosy Clouds**](https://mydramalist.com/728951-the-story-of-saiunkoku), which looks like it might be a comedy. He stars alongside Li Yitong and Deng Wei in it, and it’s on high up on my watchlist.

Aside from rocking his role in MLC, Joseph is well known for [**Feud**](https://mydramalist.com/762931-heng-men-you-hu) (2025), [**Romance on the Farm**](https://mydramalist.com/700361-wo-shi-xiao-di-zhu) (2023), [**Hi Venus**](https://mydramalist.com/710595-hi-venus) (2022), and [**Heroes**](https://mydramalist.com/67855-say-hero-who-is-hero) (2022).

He also plays as supporting characters, such as the Emperor in [**Perfect Match**](https://mydramalist.com/760155-perfect-match) (2025), and guest roles, such as Xue Chongzi in [**My Journey to You**](https://mydramalist.com/737063-half-of-us) (2023).

Born on October 9, 1997, in Guangdong, China, Joseph is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese. He’s been in several HK dramas as well, including his most recent one called [**Justice is Mine** ](https://mydramalist.com/776187-chu-gou-zhi-xue)which was released on Youku in 2025.

Before Joseph decided to pursue acting, he was a singer as part of a boy group called [Fresh Teenager Geek](https://cpop.fandom.com/wiki/FRESH), which debuted in July 2014. However, he left in October 2015 to go solo. **Some of his songs are:**

* [Water Color (水色)](https://youtu.be/r8AFV9x595I?si=gQ7MoElfbpreXGJn): A lead single from his debut Cantonese album.
* [Kiss You to Space (吻你吻上太空)](https://youtu.be/QmEpT1w3Res?si=xWOOpr1uyNGP03_O): Performed at major events like the 2025 iQiyi Scream Night.
* [A Summer Story (夏日戲劇)](https://youtu.be/V3EPA7yNPys?si=icplPEBtwowiKbhy): A music video release for this solo track
* [Say to You (对你说)](https://youtu.be/g0IzrimPhxs?si=CHUhAkq19IZmHsVJ): The ending song for the drama Feud (2025)
* [Chaseable (可追)](https://youtu.be/yC9jjlKmSd0?si=N5bfmU-VeFbkiM0Y): A duet with Liu Yuning for the Heroes OST
* [The One and Only](https://youtu.be/SOJbknWjcEg?si=DNUhUo1DN3JAjLX_): A duet with Bai Lu released in June 2025
