Has anyone else had a friendship end when you set boundaries?

I had an old friend who started complaining a lot. 90% of our convos were her complaining about something and I felt drained being around her. Then when I set boundaries she stopped talking to me. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel they aren't ready to hear how their behavior affects others and aren't ready to change.
