What are some of your Front Desk pet peeves?
The little things. Things that, ultimately, don't really matter. Common curtesy that's apparently no so common, etc. For example:
We keep scissors at the front desk for various tasks and guests will often ask to borrow them to open packages, cut tags off new clothes, etc. That's fine, I don't mind that. What gets me is, from a very young age I was taught that when handing a pair of scissors, knife, etc. to another person, you do so with the handle facing them. This I do, religiously. However, I have not once had a guest hand the scissors back to me in the same manner. They always keep a hold of the handle and thrust the scissor blades toward me, occasionally with them open and their fingers still fully in the handles. It's akin to handing someone a gun by pointing it at them with your finger on the trigger. Why would you do that?
