Any way to play Umamusume Global in Mainland China?

Hi, as title says, I'm going to China for a week later this year and I would like to know if anyone has experience with playing the game recently. If I'm using roaming, will I still need a VPN? And if a VPN is needed, which ones have been tested to be working? Would like responses from people with firsthand experience, thanks!
