Ribéry: Flawless Feel, But Can He Be Called Meta?

The meta crosser, Ribéry, has been out for five days (coming to the Chinese server later), and he has now entered the dual-group rating phase.
After playing with him for five days, I can say that this Ribéry card is truly a dream configuration for a crosser, and his on-the-ball feel is also superb. However, the problem of positional applicability remains. He is most suitable only when played at LMF/RMF, but not many people use a 4-4-2 formation. The Cross Specialist playstyle has the following issues when played at LWF/RWF—
1️⃣ He easily gets disconnected from the play and marked out of the game.
2️⃣ His crossing quality is only high when he is close to the edge of the penalty area; crossing from too wide is actually not effective. If a Cross Specialist is played at LMF/RMF, he can use the wider starting position to make runs through the midfield. This is not an option for a winger.
And if Ribéry plays as an AMF or Wide SS with an inactivated playstyle, his physicality becomes a fatal flaw. The issues above can be summarized as: the pure cross spam meta is long gone. If you need a crosser, you might as well find a good dribbler who can play well at the mainstream positions of SS and AMF and have them fill in.
