Question for ex Muslims
I was born Muslim and always kind of rolled with the flow. I always found weird things in the religion in terms of the concepts and rules. Since then I’ve been slowly learning anything I could about religion, and if mine is actually true or just man made. The thing is, as any Muslim would know, this religion is kind of a big deal. People that are in it (that are religious at least, not saying all) believe it with a 100% person conviction and do not take it lightly at all if you leave the religion. You’ve heard about ex Christians, ex Jews, but there is a reason ex Muslims aren’t very popular.
I’m feeling very very lost. I grew up with this religion and it’s been engraved in me so deeply it’s a tangle of webs I don’t know how to arrange or how to get out of. While concepts in the religion don’t make sense to me, there are so many scientific discoveries and things that have been predicted that have come true that it just confuses me so much because while a part of me is so convinced this religion isn’t true, the other part of me is like well what about all the discoveries in the Quran?
I guess I’m asking for someone that has left this religion to tell me about their experience. Tell me their research. How they became convinced. Explain how what’s in the Quran was written if it’s false. Anyone who’s ever been in this religion knows how the concept of hell has been so embedded in us, esp the concept about how disbelieving makes you directly go to hell with no forgiveness what so ever. I guess even tho hell really makes little sense to me, the conditioning I grew up under make this really hard for me to not be scared of going there. Something in my gut is telling me something’s wrong, and I really want to know.
