Rs 457 vs Ninja 400, first bike

Can ride but never owned one. Torn between these two.

Both look good to me but the Aprilia wins on aesthetics. Problem is the real engine issues it had - compression loss, cam chain failures, some full engine failures. Still not sure if current units have it sorted or not.

Ninja 400 is the safe pick. Reliable, parts everywhere, holds resale.

Anyone with a recent RS 457 that can speak to reliability? Or is it still a wait-and-see situation?
