[Mr] Suspended from work, no prior write ups or warnings due to a fault audit trail.

[MO]Okay, so I was shell shocked and blind-sided by this work suspension on Thursday and everything about it isn't making sense. So if anyone has some advise on what on eart this going on that would be lovely. For context, I work for a global company in one of the many QC labs. We use all kinds of speciality equipment and many of them have electric audit trails. Well this one instrument is older and it has a know problem of overwriting it save files. Therefore messing with the audit trail. This has been a problem that has been brought up by multiple people, not just myself.

So fast forward to this past week and I am brought in out of the blue to ask some questions for the end of the department and HR. They ask me some questions about the instrument, my data gather process and how data was entered into our system. All of this took about an hour and by the end of it they said that they were placing me on temporarily suspension while they investigate further. With the cause of the investigation being faulty looking data and the possibility of falsified data. I would get a call the following week when they conclude the investigation. I am then made to turn over my badge and I am walked out of the building.

Tldr, I was suspended for a known problem with no warning and I have no prior warnings on my records. Not even a verbal warning. So, I guess my question is can anyone give me some advice or help me understand this at all??? I am kind sitting here shell shocked. I was given anything to sign, there was no official paperwork and i wasn't even told if i wad on paid leave or not. So yeah.... just very confused.
