Ghost Stories
Many years ago, the late lesbian/exorcist Kayako Miyanoshita banished a large number of ghost haunting her town. However, recent urban development has disturbed the resting places of the spirits, releasing them back to the human world. It is up to Kayako's daughter and her gang of friends to put the restless spirits back to spiritual sleeping using her diary.
###Satsuki Miyanoshita
"You know what I hear? I hear the sound of you shutting the fuck up!"
Satsuki is the daughter of Kayako
###Hajime Aoyama
"Leave me alone. I'm doing my standard anime elbows up pose."
Hajime is your not-so-typical horny teenage boy who spends most of the series trying to look up Satsuki's skirt and generally saying perverted things.
###Leo Kakinoki
*"It's the chick from The Ring... I mean The Grudge. What movie are we ripping off again?"
Leo is a Hajime's best friend. He is a Jewish nerd and self-described "psychical researcher" who provides knowledge of urban legends.
###Momoko Koigakubo
"HAVEYOUACCEPTEDJESUSCHRISTASYOURPERSONALSAVIOR?"
Momoko is in the year above the rest and is Satsuki's best friend. Momoko is an Evangelical Christian from a rich family whose spends almost every waking hour proselytizing to her friends. Formerly a sex and drug addict, she met Kayako at rehab who now she maintains a psychic connection with that she attributes to her faith in Jesus.
###Keiichiro Miyanoshita
(incomprehensible whimpers)
Keiichirio is Satsuki's little brother. He is a cowardly and whinny child with special needs and an attachment to his pet cat Kaya.
###Amanojaku
"RUN! SHE'S A GHOST AND A BITCH!"
Amanojaku is a powerful demon who was imprisoned in a tree by Kayako until it was cut down, releasing his spirit. He is the first ghost the gang banishes, but unexpectedly ends up trapped in the body of Kaya. Despite regularly antagonizing the kids, he also assists them by sharing information about various spirits.
