Conflicting instructions

ok here it goes. My 33F wife whom I 35M have been married to for 10 years has told me she would like it if I sometimes initiated sex in the middle of the night. it sounds great right? The problem is she has told me multiple times not to touch her when she's sleeping. I can't even cuddle my own wife at night.

Is this reaction normal? When we were younger she would fall asleep in my arms almost every night. I'm not sure how to respect her wishes and give her what she needs.

As an example I woke up in the middle of the night to a storm and rolled over and out my arm around her waist and try to go back to sleep. she snapped at me and said I was waking her up and to not touch her. Then this morning she confronted me and said she is allowed to have boundaries which I agree with.

tl;dr wife wants me to initiate sex spontaneously in the middle of the night, but told me not to touch her while she is sleeping.
