I make between $3k and $10k/week deploying AI agents for small businesses. MY SIMPLE STACK!
i build agents for small businesses. lead scoring, customer support, data pipelines, booking systems. nothing crazy, just stuff that needs to run every day without breaking. clients pay between $1k and $3k per build and i usually ship 2-4 per week.
here's what i actually use
models
claude sonnet 4.6 through openrouter for almost everything. cheap, fast, follows instructions. kimi k2.5 for high volume tasks where i need to keep costs under $50/month. tried gpt-5.4, went back after a week.
coding
claude code + warp
docs and context
this one took me months to figure out. agents kept hallucinating API calls because training data was stale. stripe changed their SDK, supabase moved endpoints, the model just didn't know
i use npx nia-docs now. point it at any docs site and it gives you a filesystem you can browse. killed about 80% of my hallucination issues. before that i was pasting doc URLs into every session like an idiot.
integrations
composio for anything that needs oauth. gmail, slack, notion, sheets. saves you from building auth flows from scratch every single time
memory
supabase. that's it. most projects just need a postgres table. don't set up a vector store until you've proven you need one.
orchestration
just python scripts. i know everyone loves frameworks. i tried langchain, crewai, autogen. the abstractions added more bugs than they solved. a simple script that calls the model, runs a function, and logs the result is all you need
hosting
hetzner VPS, $20/month runs everything. PM2 keeps things alive
the boring truth is one good model + composio + python handles 90% of it. the rest is logging and error handling. the stack is not the hard part. selling it is.
