Hello everyone! I’ve decided to start this series discussing each Melanie song from HADES, starting with GARBAGE!

P.S , I am pretty sure the pages after this lead into IS THIS A CULT, but please correct me if I am wrong in the comments!)

First we have garbage,

According to the story book, we get an intro of circle. It says how Pawdy, who is possibly her mother, or some kind of leader of her town won’t help get circle’s mother better medical aid. And circle’s mom refers to circle as a “life box” giving her the label that matches what her songs do. They claim her songs can heal others physically.

Onto the lyrics of garbage,

Beauty in garbage, beauty in garbage

Take what it gives you this time

\~could reference how the people in circle’s town or area don’t ever know what they’ll be receiving. They have to scramble for anything because the town is so poor and filthy. \~

Every collision, civilization

Collapses, and what do you find?

\~this reveals circle is aware of the inevitable of her own town\~

\[Refrain\]

Wake up the neighbors, and stop the policeman

From committing murderous crimes

The grass combusted, the water is fishless

The earthquakes are hour-long strikes

\~these lyrics reveal the normal for circle’s area is terrible, instead of natural disasters being main concerns, it’s human violence. And instead of being able to turn to nature, it is all destroyed…\~

Violence ablazing, gunshots replacing

The sound of the church bells and hymns

"White Jesus, save me," you'll scream like a baby

\~this shows the people in circle’s town depend on a religion they themselves aren’t even educated on. Perfecting naive minds. \~

Your water is cheap bottled wine

\~\~Rhymes back with “Every collision, civilization

Collapses, and \*what do you find?\* ”\~\~

Wake up the children, devices are filled

With the blood of their addicted hands

\~this is saying directly basically that the devices are operated off blood, basically saying that devices are made to hurt us, and make us addicted. Like how short form content isn’t restricted inside the apps in anyway. Also reflects how children are left to devices.\~

No service is left but the service

You give to your fellow American man

\*references how trump wants service from everyone when he is the president. Also just how circle’s town replicates America.\*

Militant freaks hovering over the sky

So you better run for the forest

\*a warning, how everyone is being watched, and to turn to nature/the forest, more then likely untouched by the government\*

And we're all under their cold, watchful eye

So you better hide what you're growin'

\*references how the government wants them to rely on shops for everything. Because even health departments today are cutting corners. Most chocolate now says “chocolatey” instead of “choclate” because cocoa powder isn’t even used. \*

Lookin' out for yourself won't get you far

\*\~A warning to to the rulers of circle’s town, basically saying we have the power, the power of voting is the only thing that got them there. Trump go majority vote. We are the reason he is here. It’s a call back to the origin of his occupation.\~\*

Better make peace with your people

\*Saying that rulers / presidents should be mindful of the people who got them there. \*

There can be beauty among trying times

We can push through all the evil

\*saying that we can make things better\*
