Paradox of choice: roommates or living alone? I’m tired

Discussion

Quick context: Since 2018 up until last year, I’ve been living with someone (2018-2022: university roommate, 2022-2025: ex boyfriend).

I’ve now been living alone for the last 6 months, and it’s been hard. I don’t really enjoy my own company (I’m working on this), so it’s hard when weekends arrive and I have nothing to do. Therefore, I’ve been looking for roommates for my next apartment (gotta move out in the summer).

I found roommates (off of Facebook) to live with and we found an amazing apartment. Now I’m getting cold feet cause I don’t know if it’s worth it.

What if they don’t want to invest money into furnishing the apartment besides furnishing their room? What if it’s a bit awkward? I don’t want to find myself moving out again.

On the other hand, the apartment is in the neighbourhood I want and it’s huge, with everything one could ask for.

I know it’s up to me to decide what to do, but any advice is appreciated!! Have you guys gone through an experience where you wished you had lived alone? Or vice versa, went alone and wished you had roommates?
