Moving out at 18, need advice/tips to make it bearable

I’m 18 and just finished high school. I’m thinking about moving to another city and living alone for the first time.

I live with my father currently. My relationship with my father is complicated, and growing up hasn’t always been a positive experience. It’s one of the reasons I’m considering moving out to have more independence and a better environment for myself.

My mom(an OFW) is willing to support me(Pay rent, bills, tuition, etc.), but I still wanna try working part-time while in college.

My concerns are mainly about mistakes I need to avoid and preparation needed.
