So i just washed the bricks with a rag and dawn dish soap and this is what the basking spot would look like when put together in her tank and currently use what I got at petsmart for a basking spot. My question is this. her new basking spot once setup would be around 5 and a half inches give or take used a ruler on my phone and her loose substrate sits about 3 inches high with another inch and a half of empty space to work with. Should I go ahead and add the other bag of reptisoil in her 40g tank? I already have it and bought it along with what I already have. I didnt add it from the start because thought it would overflow. Recently switched to loose substrate about a week ago and right now its 2 bags of reptisand and 2 bags of reptisoil. i was originally recommended to do a I forget what ratio it would be 60/40? for 3 bags of reptisoil and 2 bags of reptisand is 60/40 ratio? never was good at ratios. lol. but it would add more stability to the 2 bricks the slate would sit on. The other 2 bricks I just have as a back up incase I need to add more hight. With the current setup. I have to have her 100w arcadia halogen lamp which is one of the most recommended basking lamps for a 40g tank raised about 8-8 1/2 inches from the mesh top provide a basking temp of about 110 degrees. Right now it goes up to 109 degrees but her lights has only been on for an hour so I know it will be going to 110. maybe I might have to buy a 75w basking bulb too? I keep my apartment at 72 because i didnt want it too cold her and not too hot for me. maybe thats why her temps can be so high? idk. Also I need suggestions on decor to buy from the petstore to cover the sharp edges of the bricks and slate. I realized when I was cleaning her bricks and slate they were very sharp and almost cut me. So I dont want my baby getting hurt. The last 2 picks shows my current setup and My girl Loki chillin in one of her favorite spots on her rope ladder. Also my girl has never hid even after I got her but I still give her hides. She also hasn't dug yet either which I heard bearded dragons love to dig. Maybe she isnt at that age yet to dig? So any advice would be much appreciated.

I need help with setting up my baby beardie basking spot and possibly add another bag of reptisoil?
