Real-time behavioral intelligence that decodes what your dog is feeling — using camera, microphone, and on-device

Existing apps are closed-source, cloud-dependent, marketing-heavy native. Canid's angle is the open, transparent, privacy-first, browser-based approach.

1. Runs in-browser — no app store, no install, no account. That's unique. Everyone else is a native app.
2. Fully on-device — zero data transmission. Most competitors send audio to cloud APIs.
3. Open source — training pipeline included. Nobody else is doing this.
4. Science-forward — cites actual papers, explains limitations honestly. The competitors lean on marketing ("speak fluent woof!").

I looked up other apps:

• Traini — Went viral, claims 81.5% accuracy. Uses photo/video/sound analysis, built with animal behaviorists. Native app (iOS/Android). Probably the closest competitor.
• Barkingo — AI bark translator + body language analysis (tail, ears, posture). Native app. Does sound frequency, contextual understanding, and learns your individual dog over time.
• Petcube Play 2 — Hardware camera with built-in dog translator. Analyzes sounds → emotions. Works remotely.
• Dog Translate (dogtranslate.org) — Claims 500K+ users. AI bark/body language decoding.
• Barkly — Google Play app. Real-time translation, custom pet profiles, personalized to your dog's vocalizations.
