Getting around in Somerville

Hi all,

I’m considering moving to Somerville this summer for work. My office is in Seaport. How’s the commute getting there? Maps says it’s ~20 drive or ~45 minute commute if I took the T. This is based on the neighborhood I’m planning to move to (near Market Basket).

How’s the driving between Somerville to seaport during rush hour? Do trains run on time? Is Somerville too far to live from my office? Any other places you’d recommend?

I realize I can Google Maps this, but it’ll be my first move to Massachusetts so I’d love to hear first hand from current residents and anything else to look out for.
