Abscess drained + return of hardened area after bowel movement.

I need to know if this is "normal." My abscess drained spontaneously yesterday. And this morning I had to use the bathroom, and after the bowel movement, the area became hard again and started to hurt quite a bit in the fistula canal.. Is this normal for an active fistula? Will it keep swelling every day, forming blisters and bursting?
