rawrdenim.comFYI - the rise is about an inch longer than my 1001s, a little longer than the 3009, and the thigh is a bit looser too (more mid-thigh than top thigh.)

Nice. Have they ever released this slim of a fit before? Most of the flatheads i see are straight leg or slim straight.

Yeah. The 3002 is basically the 3001 (310) with a taper from the knee down.
The 3012 has more of a taper, higher rise and I have no idea what the thigh is looking like. There is a few stores on Rakuten selling already.

How does this compare to the Samurai 710? The 710 cut works really well for me so I'm looking for something similar. Looking at the pictures I'd guess it has a similar rise/top block but a slightly more aggressive taper below the knee?

The fit is very different. I think the rise is similar, but the top thigh is definitely looser, and there's much more taper. People who find the S710's thigh too tight - or the hem too big - would like the 3012.

how would the sizing compare with the 710 and 3009? the same size, or down one (mostly thigh concern)

Wish I had seen these when I was in Tokyo last month, but I am a big fan of the rise on the 3009s I bought and the leg hole is tapered enough for my tastes.

As a guy with thighs as big as your head... these look awesome.

This fit seems perfect for the body builders with huge thighs on this subreddit that are looking for something other than slim-straight. I'm not sure the model was the best choice, but someone with huge thighs may have just found their holy grail fit.
