Cat stuck in neighbors garage for a week

my cat went missing last week and after knocking on virtually every neighbor's door I found her in a neighbors garage. I attempted to get her but she retreated into a hole in the ground.

I left food and water and was pleased the next morning when it was gone. this means she is also not stuck either.

I bought a humane cat trap, wrapped her blanket around it, clothing on the bottom but somehow she ate the bait, triggered the trap, and escaped.

I have used clothing outside and in a ground level room with the window open.

The neighbor's garage is a rental and we cannot alter the building.

my nerves are fried. does anybody have any other recommendations.
