So I had customer complaint today. I work in the Central Valley and do sampling at Costco. Today is the day before Easter so of course we were slammed with people. I was trying hard to keep samples available when this woman approaches my cart and grabs the last sample on my tray. She stands in front of my cart chomping on her sample crowds of people waiting to walk by. For point of reference I was a few iles down from the cash registers so there were lines of people standing down the main walkways waiting to be rang up. I politely ask that everyone keep moving while I try and get more samples out. She then looks at me disgustingly and says “this is Costco honey” “I’m waiting for you to do your job” I replied with a simple okay, and tried to explain that it is very busy, feel free to walk around and try some other samples and come back around when I have samples ready for you. Unfortunately she didn’t like that answer either and said she wanted to talk to my manager. I told her “no problem , sorry I’m. It wearing my name tag today my name is ___ and my event mangers name is ___ she quickly responded with “oh I know exactly who you are I used to work with your company I’ll call your manger PERSONALLY” again I responded with an “okay” 2 seconds after that I had my coworker call my event manager so that I could explain the situation. I gave them a full account of the situation and I figured that would be that. Until my event manager comes back asking for more details. Asking if there were children standing present during this interaction. Later I ask what the customer complaint was exactly. And apparently she told not only my event manager but Costco manager as well that I told her children to keep it moving. Never having said that to any child. So amber is a traveling brand ambassador for Costco. I did work with her once at my location without incident. I 100% expected more from someone who represents Costco or other brands. Amber came across as entitled and impatient. Her husband wasn’t very kind either. He had sample after sample after sample which didn’t bother me. What bothered me was some of his commentary. My job is to advertise a product and ask for the sale.. so after the 4th or 5th sample I said “take some home today! Only 11.59! Have as many as you like.” He looks at me very smug like and said oh no I can make these at home I don’t need to buy these. I can just eat these for free. Not my favorite answer so I chose not to say anything. I just had to get this off my chest. This is the kind of people I deal with on the daily basis. I was shocked that I got this kind of behavior from someone who was once in my shoes. If you come across this lady somewhere in Central Valley maybe tell her to have a blessed day or pray for her. She obviously has some kind of hate in her heart to go out of her way to be so unkind to someone who was clearly overwhelmed at work. I hope she heals and chooses to be more kind.
