Diverted Flight - Shout out to fellow passengers MCO to ORD

Last night (4/3/2026) our flight from MCO to ORD carrying a boat load of kids started out delayed, then circled ORD over and over and over while watching lightening strikes. We diverted to Rockford. We landed safely and sat for an hour with no real information. We were told we could not take off again and would be bussed back to ORD. Our bags took an hour to come out. All this background to say I have never been on a flight - even an ideal one - where I didn’t hear somebody complaining about something. And on this flight, where people could and should complain in certain situations, did not. There was one baby who wasn’t having it (rightfully) and no one around me mentioned it. It felt like a real community of people thinking “OK it is what it is. I’m thankful we got here safe.” This night landed for me enough to come here to mention it. I am grateful we all got home safe, but I’m more grateful to know that in this terrible scenario, I got to see the best of us last night!!
