Explaining the Vestige Quirks without revealing OFA.

Writing help

I plan on having the Vestige Quirks be unlocked much earlier than canon, early enough that Izuku has to update his Quirk Information to explain them.

This would be the information told to the government, while the actual way the vestiges work is the same as canon.

Any advice to help refine this idea would be immensely appreciated!

Here is what I am currently thinking of:

Quirk: Potential Storage

The ability to accumulate Potential Energy over time (Hence why it took 11 years to build up enough to be usable) and change it into Kinetic Energy it in a variety of expressions.

(Also been awhile since I had a physics class, so I may phrase things wrong).

How the Vestiges fit into this definition:

Gearshift: The ability to increase/decrease an object's potential energy through touch, adding the removed energy to Izuku's stockpile.

Fa Jin: A move where Izuku uses his quirk on a small scale, intentionally building up potential energy for immediate use, but limited to the body part responsible for accumulating the energy. Considered an Ultimate Move, rather than its own aspect.

Danger Sense: N/A. Danger Sense is an internal quirk, and can be hidden without external signs of it, so it does not need to be explained. Izuku is just considered to have good senses.

Black Whip: Unleashing the Kinetic Energy in a solid form.

Smokescreen: Unleashing Kinetic Energy in an unfocused state, causing the physical expression to dissipate in the air, creating a smokescreen. (This is the one I am least sure of).

Float: Izuku can completely negate the kinetic energy Gravity creates pulling him to the ground, turning it into potential energy stored for his other moves, allowing him to float in the air. By leaning in a direction, he allows some kinetic energy to be used to move him, while maintaining his distance from the ground without risking plummeting.
