Left feeling uncomfortable after a walk.

I was walking today on a different route and someone came up and stopped me with pamphlets about religion. I tried to quickly end this and go but I panicked and stayed out of fear of being rude. As he talked, I noticed his phone in the breast pocket of his shirt with the camera lens facing me so I turned around to face around me but still felt that leaving would again be rude so I listened as he told me his life story. I stayed like that until he asked me my name, which is when I said I needed to go and continued walking and he went on his.

Its been a while since I had stopped to indulge talking to someone about things that are rather personal but this encounter really made me feel really uncomfortable even though I am a guy and an adult. There are people in my life who are religious and I'm fine with that but this just felt off like boundary breaching. I hope to be overcomplicating this and he couldve been honest in intent but the specifically the position of the phone has left me uneasy and causing me to panic over this. How can I calm down, ease up and stop thinking this over and over again?
